Exercise: Six Prisms

This exercise looks at yourself through six prisms of corporate instinct. The things you can do that others have never learnt to do; the things you’ve spent years getting so good at, that you’ve forgotten there are other inferior ways

Many of the things we do in corporate life we assume anyone can do (but they can’t).  We forget we’ve learnt how to do these things and are often unconscious of them because we’ve been doing them for so long.

In my experience, these are often tremendous sources of value to others. They’re the things that help you deliver value fast, and almost immediately without loads of guidance or training. They’re the things that make you reliable because you can see the risks and you can pre-empt issues. They’re the things that mean you know what ‘good’ looks like and they’re the things that drive efficiency.
